New Course: Creating Compelling Environments for Concept Art

In our latest course, you will learn how to develop a compelling environment for games or film. You will learn the core principles of sketching, lighting, composition, color and design. At the end of this course, you will have learned the foundation of how to create your own compelling environments for concept art.

What You’ll Learn

Concept artist Kalen Chock will take you through the full process of creating a beautiful game or film environment.

This course builds upon Kalen’s other course, Thumbnail Sketching for Environments, in which you expressed your environment ideas through thumbnail sketching. This time you’ll take one of those sketches and build it into a full environment by refining the line art, blocking in colours, adding texture, and much more.

New Coffee Break Course on CC Libraries in Adobe Photoshop

We know that many of our subscribers are busy people and have limited time available for online learning. So recently we created a new type of video content, called the “Coffee Break Course”, that’s designed to be consumed in a single sitting.

These new courses contain just a single video, about 7 to 12 minutes long, and by the end of the video you can expect to have mastered a new skill or concept.

The latest one, for example, is on Getting to Know the CC Libraries in Adobe Photoshop. The Adobe CC Library panel allows you to store color swatches, color themes, brushes, typographical styles and raster and vector graphics in the cloud for you to access at any time and from wherever you are!

In this Coffee Break Course, Envato Tuts+ instructor Kirk Nelson will show you how to use the CC libraries for a more streamlined workflow.

By the way, here’s a link to the Coffee Shop Facebook Timeline used in the course.

For those of you who prefer our traditional, longer courses, don’t worry: we’ve still got plenty of those coming your way. The Coffee Break Courses are just an alternative option for those of you who have less time available and want to master a new skill in a single sitting.

The CC Libraries course is free, but only for the first two weeks, so you need to act fast. Simply go to the course page before 29 December, and follow the steps to create a free account.
